International Women's Day 2021: The future of defense and security
From the gendered consequences of non-traditional security threats like climate change and the disproportional targeting of women by disinformation campaigns, to assumptions about women in cybersecurity and peacemaking and the issue of women’s rights in allied strategies for the Indo-Pacific, gender is an enormously consequential component of every facet of international security today.
This event features a fireside roundtable with The. Hon. Michèle Flournoy, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of WestExec Advisors and former Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, on the future of international security and defense and advice for women (and men) in the security field. The fireside conversation will be followed by an expert panel reacting to a series of short pitches from our next-generation authors related to their recent work on gender and security.
