Modest Glasha Novikova has been sent to Moscow to the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition. Here she meets with Dagestan shepherd Musaib Gatuevym. At parting, Glasha and Musaib promise to write to each other and meet at the next year show. But on their way to love gets Kuzma, who is also in love with Glasha.
