In this webinar, Sue shared the lessons learned from an NSF-funded project that deeply explored the role of "brokering" (i.e., catalyzing) connections, in five rural ecosystems.
This project explored what happens when a community member is hired to be a professional ecosystem broker, i.e., someone who connects youth to existing STEM opportunities rather than creating new programs.
A key finding was that the brokering fell into three categories: pointing, supporting, and leading.
The work was more challenging than expected, for many reasons.
