What Weapons do the British Armed Police use?
Starting off with their sidearm the most common pistol of choice is the Glock 17. This is also the same pistol primarily used by the British Military.
However, the likes of the metropolitan police use a wide variety of pistols including the more compact and shorter barrelled glock 19, the M variants of both the glock 17 and glock 19 as well as the glock 26 which is even more compact than the glock 19 and thus often used by plain clothes police for its conceal carry potential.
In terms of smgs, HKs MP5 is a popular choice, using both the A2 Solid stock, the A3 folding stock and the more compact MP5K.
Benelli M3 Super 90 and breach are use by the metropolitan police with the greater manchester police opting for the Remington 870.
Now onto rifles. One of the more popular choices are variants of HKs G36 but the SIG 516 and SIG 716 have become increasingly more popular . Nonetheless, the SIG MCX is often favored by CTSFOs and SFOs.
Lastly the sniper of choice is of course the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare line up including the 7.62x51 and .338 lapua magnum variants.
There are a few i’ve missed out in each of the categories as different police forces have their own preferences.
