I had a problem on my Audi A6 C7 2.0 TFSI - the engine does not start the first time, the second time only with the gas pedal pressed. There are no errors in the ECU.

Signs of malfunction of the high-pressure fuel pump (but there may also be fuel injectors):
1. Difficult starting of the engine on hot, sometimes the engine does not start even from the second time, pressing the gas pedal during startup helps.
2. Reduced instantaneous fuel consumption, at P/N it should be 0.8-0.9 l/hour, if below 0.7 l/hour it is necessary to check the adaptation of the fuel mixture.
3. The engine oil has a smell of gasoline.
4. The oil level increases and it becomes liquid, quickly drains from the oil dipstick.
5. The configured speed jumps on cruise control.
6. Errors in the engine control unit are more often for a rich mixture, but sometimes for a poor mixture, there is also an error for insufficient fuel pressure. The normal pressure in the high-pressure fuel ramp at idle is about 40 bar (4000 kPa), when the engine is loaded, the pressure increases to 100-120 bar (10000-12000 kPa).
Example of an error on a rich mixture:

7. Fuel pressure drop in the high-pressure ramp when the engine stops.
8. If you remove the fuel pump on a cold engine, and the spring is "dry", then the fuel pump passes fuel through the rod, with a working pump it should be in oil.
9. A jammed fuel pump rod, a serviceable pump has a spring length of about 29mm (for 2.0 TFSI, for 1.8 TFSI engines, the stem and spring are shorter)
