City leaders will meet Monday to discuss the policing technology the city has a contract with that's about to expire. The city's contract extension with ShotSpotter's parent company is set to expire on Sept. 22. Mayor Brandon Johnson and several aldermen disagree over whether the city should keep using the acoustic gunshot detection technology, which has cost taxpayers more than $50 million. The city's Public Safety Committee will get a look at the latest ShotSpotter data in a hearing set to begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
