Just only sharing my experience with the replacement of our X-band radar magnetron.
Step-by-step procedure on dismantling old magnetron (JRC - JMA 1922) and installing new spare. Our radar magnetron was overdue more than twice its service life. When I came onboard the Captain and Chief officer ask me to replace it. The normal service life of magnetron is 4,000hrs for JRC radar. What is the service life or running hour of the magnetron in your radar aside from JRC maker?
