Jesse Enkamp or Kevin Lee / Wing Chun vs Karate / 詠春 vs 空手 / Вин Чун против Каратэ.
Many have seen this video challenge: Kevin vs Jesse - Wing Chun or Karate. And many people came to the conclusion. that Kevin lost. In my opinion, he won. Let's look in detail.
In one of the comments, Jesse said that it was just a game.
In this case, I will try to explain the logic of such a game and the “rules” as I see it. This is my subjective opinion and it may differ from the opinions of others.
Based on different data of the fighters: height, weight, arm length, etc. and the characteristics of the styles (karate and wing chun), it will be correct to give victory to the one who first “brought the hit to the target”, and not everything that happened in the round. Because
it's not a fight, but a game, like barley-brick))).
That is, the first “touch” means victory in the round. This is true in this case. This will be reminiscent of the fight between Bruce Lee and Ohara in Enter the Dragon.
Now let's look at the rounds:
1. First round: Kevin attacks, Jesse blocks and quickly counters. Jessie won the round, 1:0
2. Second round: Kevin attacks and hits the target. This time Jesse did not have time to block the attack. Kevin won the round, 1:1
3. Third round: Kevin attacks and hits the target. The blow was far from the target, but if Kevin had taken a step forward, then the victory would have been more obvious. Kevin won the round, 1:2
4. Fourth round: Kevin attacks and hits the target. Kevin won the round, 1:3
5. Fifth round: Kevin and Jesse hit the target at the same time. Everyone gets one point, 2:4
6. Sixth round: Kevin attacks and hits the target. Kevin won the round, 2:5
7. Seventh round: Kevin attacks, but Jesse hits the target first. Jessie won the round, 3:5

Even if the third round is in doubt, in the end Kevin won the “game”!

P.S. Kevin could have been even more convincing if he had taken a step forward at the moment of the attack. But despite the speed and length of Jesse's arms, the result is obvious. And it makes no sense to take into account all further actions in the round, since this is not a battle.

Thanks Jesse! Well done Kevin!
