DYI valve job on a Toyota Prius.
I actually took this cylinder head to two different machine shops. The first shop here in Saint Maries did an impressively bad job of resurfacing it. It still had 0.0035" of space in the middle after they finished working on it. The 2nd shop fixed it and did a good job of resurfacing it but obviously they didn't check the condition of the valves well enough. They said the valves were not leaking but there's no way they could have been sealing up 100%. And the 2nd shop that's located in Spokane is the best cylinder head shop we have in 400 miles. People get offered sometimes when I question the quality of their work and check it, but you have to do it or pay the price later on.
