Testing the Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 4GB graphics card in 12 popular and demanding games in 2024, using an average gaming PC.

Maxwell 2.0 is currently the oldest architecture Nvidia still supports, meaning that the GTX 900 series still runs on the latest drivers, and so is still mostly compatible with modern games. However, after 10 years, even the once high-end GTX 980 doesn’t look as appealing as it once did. Is it best left to playing games closer to its own age, or can it still give a premium experience in 2024?
