surrounded by wolves, says Mary Krainik, who, caught in a snow trap, gave birth to a healthy child weighing 3.4 kg. The help came from a pack of wolves that seemed to have witnessed the birth, she reports. They considered me a member of their pack", - remembers the 25-year-old secretary from Talkeetny, Alaska. "If it wasn't for their care, my child would not have survived. The wolves warmed us, licked the newborn, one of them bit the umbilical cord. They helped me take the baby in my arms to breastfeed him. They watched over us until the helpers came," said the woman. Mary Krainik was eight months pregnant when, returning to the house, she ran into a terrible blizzard. The car left the road and got stuck in a pile of snow. Mary got out of the car, hoping that someone who might be passing through the area would pick her up. But the blizzard kept increasing in intensity, and the woman, now desperate, decided to walk towards the city. She struggled for about 800 meters, when suddenly she felt the pains. Seeing almost a place where there was less snow, Mary sat down there, but because of the pain and fear she fainted. "I recovered a few minutes later", says Mary, who continues to narrate: "My head was lying on the back of a big wolf, probably the leader of the pack". Other wolves, nine in number, surrounded the woman in a tight ring, protecting her from the blizzard. "I really didn't have time to get scared. 20 minutes later, I gave birth to a baby. A she-wolf carefully bit the umbilical cord and then together with her friend licked the child. The remaining wolves clung to Mary, warming her. Mary tried to take the child in her arms, but she did not have the strength. The same she-wolf that bit the umbilical cord, imposed its nose on the child against the mother. The little one was crying. Mary began to nurse him. "The wolves were always by my side, like a dense wall they protected me from the blizzard. I was like a member of their pack that needed help. The leader of the pack licked the snow and tears from my cheeks". Mary's acquaintances found the abandoned car and immediately began the search. Seeing a pack of wolves on the hill, they thought something terrible had happened. They started shooting, and the wolves ran away. Then, the people found the woman, with a newborn child, leaning against the tree. The wolves, however, did not run far. they watched from a distance as people carried the woman they cared for to the car..."They won't forget me," Mary Krainik told reporters. "And I, one day I will come there with my little Bill. I'm sure they'll come too," added the woman. And, if it weren't for the witnesses who found Mary surrounded by wolves, no one would have ever believed in this story. Foresters and hunters in the area refuse to comment. this case and is now trying to convince the woman not to try to meet her "carnivorous" rescuers. But Mary Krainik doesn't give up and is waiting for a new meeting. Although it seems unreal, Mary Krainik's story could be true, and examples of events that have wolves at their center considered real killers - are more and more frequent.
