British Heart Foundation (BHF) celebrated its 6th annual Heart Hero Awards on Wednesday 6 December 2023 at Glaziers Hall in London.
The annual awards recognised some of our CPR Heroes who demonstrated incredible courage and bravery by attempting to save a person’s life from cardiac arrest by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR.
At 16 years old, Ginny saved her dad Andy’s life after he collapsed from a cardiac arrest outside their home.
On trying to call 999, Ginny realised her phone was left in her dad’s car.
Rolling Andy over to retrieve the keys, Ginny ran back to the car and called emergency services who talked her through how to do CPR until an ambulance arrived.
Andy nominated Ginny as his CPR Hero, as without his daughter's fast thinking and perseverance Andy would not have survived.
