Motown In Mono & Stereo: "I'm Still Loving You - Kim Weston" Mono/Stereo
I'm Still Loving You (William Stevenson-Ivy Jo Hunter-Sylvia Moy) published Jobete 15-Jan-65
Time Stamps:
0:00 Mono
2:50 Stereo
This was an Epic production by any standard. Producers William Stevenson and Ivy Jo Hunter erected a scaffold that reached for the stars, but was bolstered and fortified to support the Leading Lady, Kim Weston.
The Funk Brothers are utilized to their fullest effect with dramatic, thundering drum fills, a stop-start musical arrangement, a chord structure that seemingly was a Stevenson favorite (the same chord structure was used with The Marvelettes' "Your Cheating Ways"), and a massively complex horn arrangement during the middle-eight musical break.
Let's add to all of this The Andantes- but Stevenson and Hunter, had them record TWO vocal parts; Kim Weston was provided with a magnificent backdrop of a musical performance, and still - it had to compete with the sheer strength of Kim's massive talent.
