OC Transpo O-Train Line 1 "Confederation Line": Turning the train around at uOttawa (July 2024)
Three different clips of O-Train LRT LIne 1 "Confederation Line" turning around at uOttawa Station by using the crossover switch located just west of uOttawa Station (between uOttawa Station and Rideau Station).
Steps and Procedure to the turn the train around at uOttawa Station:
All passengers must exit the train at uOttawa Station westbound platform
An Electric Rail Operator (ERO) for the eastbound direction will board the westbound train arriving at uOttawa, at the rear car
The westbound train will depart uOttawa, and proceed to the crossover switch just west of uOttawa go from the westbound tracks (Track 1) to the eastbound tracks (Track 2)
The ERO doing the westbound direction will shutoff its driver's cab, and exit the driver's cab
The front car of the train in the westbound direction will become the rear car of the train in the eastbound direction, while the rear car of the train in the westbound direction will become the front car of the train in the eastbound direction
Then immediately the other ERO doing the eastbound direction (who boarded the train at uOttawa at the rear car) will immediately startup the driver's cab, and then proceed to uOttawa Station eastbound platform to enter service
The ERO that was originally travelling the westbound direction will exit the train at uOttawa Station eastbound platform, crossover to the westbound platform, to await for the next train to turnaround
Between July 15 and July 28, 2024, O-Train LRT Line 1 "Confederation Line" was shut down between uOttawa Station and Tunney's Pasture Station for planned maintenance and to address other ongoing issues since it opened. This maneover was utilized.
