At the heart of the Porsche Active Ride system are four hydraulic motor-pump units, each capable of exerting over 2000 pounds of force into individual suspension corners. This advanced fully active suspension system is designed to eliminate body roll, enhancing the vehicle's stability and agility on the road. The system allows the Panamera to adapt dynamically to varying road conditions, ensuring optimal traction and performance across all driving modes (Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus).

One of the most innovative aspects of the Porsche Active Ride is its ability to modify the vehicle's behavior based on the driving conditions. For instance, it can reduce pitching and rolling, keeping the body horizontal, and adjust wheel load distribution for better traction. Moreover, it offers features like leaning into corners like a motorcycle or adjusting the body posture during acceleration and braking for added comfort. This versatility is made possible through a sophisticated control system that uses sensors to monitor wheel and body acceleration, adjusting the dampers in real-time for optimal performance.
