It's important, however, to draw a direct comparison between the American and European pricing for the 2024 Ford Mustang GT Fastback, as Europe bypasses the 315-hp EcoBoost model in favor of the Mustang GT and Dark Horse editions. The starting price for the Mustang GT Fastback in the US is $42,710, significantly less than the Dark Horse's European price of €72,500, or more than $78,000, compared to the $59,485 suggested retail price in the US. Notably, in Europe, the advertised price tends to be more consistent, with discounts being more common than price increases, unlike some US dealerships.
The European models face another major difference: the power output of the Coyote V8 engine has been reduced from the US versions' 486 hp and 500 hp to 446 hp (328 kW) and 448 hp (334 kW) for the GT and Dark Horse, respectively. Despite this, Europeans can still opt for a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, with a ten-speed automatic transmission available for an extra €3,000 ($3,239). Both the Fastback coupe and Convertible versions have made their way to Europe, aiding the Mustang in maintaining its global sales lead in the sports car category, thanks to contributions from European buyers.
