Leofoto VD-02 tripod feet for video monopod base can be used to increase stability when shooting video and recording movies. The specs of the VD-02 tripod base are as follows:
Leofoto VD-02 tripod feet for video monopods specifications are:
◾Mount screw: The initial version had a 1/4"-20 screw whereas later ones have a 3/8"-16 screw but both use the same model name of VD-02.
◾Build: It is made from Aluminium alloy
◾Folded length: 16.5 cm
◾Max height: 8 cm i.e. when deployed it adds 8cm to the height of your monopod set-up. The total height is 9.2 cm but 1.2 cm is the screw part hence the 8 cm total additional height when connected to a monopod.
◾Diameter of base when opened: 32 cm
◾Weight : 534 g (480 g according to its manual and 520 g according to the official website and packaging i.e. it is dependant on source of information).
◾Max Load Capacity: 6kg
This means that even though the MPQ-404C monopod has a maximum load capacity of 25kg, when using this tripod foot with it the overall maximum load capacity will be 5.3kg. Since the monopod weighs 0.7kg and the load capacity of the tripod is 6kg.

◾Ballhead drag tension: Rubber foot screw can be tightened or loosened to adjust the drag tension.
◾Ballhead angle restricter: The red knob can be used to limit the angle of movement of the monopod.
In my experience the movement of the ball-head was too tight for this tripod based to be used effectively with a monopod. I have seen videos of other people using this tripod base and it looked like the movement was loose so maybe the one that I received is defective or maybe it will become loose over time with usage but this is a big problem in my opinion. As it negates the flexibility of a monopod in terms of fast movements.
I have seen online reviews mentioning the same problem but also mentioning that it became loose over time with usage.
I have contacted Leofoto about this issue and they confirmed that the item I have received is defective and it is malfunctioning so if I get a replacement I will provide an update but as of now this tripod is unusable and not fit for purpose.
