MUSIC
I find that music can make or break a video - in the past I’ve tested uploading the same video with different music tracks, and I’ve had one version go viral while the other flopped. So I put a lot of effort into pairing the right music track…
Here’s my process -
1. I think about the vibe of the video. Is it playful, powerful, mysterious, peaceful, etc
2. Then I find songs with that vibe (under the “mood” filter in @artlist.io) and listen to a bunch of options under that vibe. I’ll usually download several options and pull them into my editing timeline, and then pick the one that feels right
3. Finally I line up the music track with the timing - I find an interesting moment in the video and line it up with a key moment in the song
