From the Home Screen:
Press the PlayStation button on your controller to go to the Home Screen.
Access the Control Center:
Swipe down from the top of the screen. This will open the Control Center.
Mute the Microphone:
In the Control Center, you'll see an icon that looks like a microphone. This icon indicates the status of your microphone.
Click on the microphone icon to toggle the microphone on or off. If the icon has a line through it, the microphone is muted. If not, the microphone is active.
Using the Quick Menu:
While you're playing a game or using an application, you can access the Quick Menu by pressing the PlayStation button once.
Navigate to the microphone icon in the Quick Menu.
Click on the icon to toggle the microphone on or off.
Using System Settings:
You can also manage microphone settings from the PS5's system settings.
Go to the Settings from the Home Screen.
Select "Sound" and then "Microphone."
From here, you can adjust the microphone settings, including muting it.
