Join NHGRI researchers at the NIH Intramural Sequencing Center (NISC) as they show you step-by-step how to extract human DNA, sequence it, and interpret the data -- with some fun DNA high jinks along the way.

Step 1: Find a DNA sample.
Step 2: Isolate the cells by centrifugation.
Step 3: Extract the DNA from the sample.
Step 4: Load the sample into the sequencer.
Step 5: Wait for the data to be generated.
Step 6: Use the data you have collected to build the genome.
Step 7: Analyze the DNA sequence data for quality.
Done! High five your team!
