Seminar Title: Understanding genetic variants: from technology development to the clinic
February 23, 2023 - Dr. Douglas Fowler, associate professor in the Department of Genome Sciences at University of Washington, talks about his lab's expertise in genomics, protein science, technology development and computational approaches. The Fowler Lab: 1) combines cutting-edge genomic methods with computational analyses to measure the consequences of tens of thousands of DNA sequence alterations simultaneously; 2) combines cutting-edge genomic methods with computational analyses to measure the consequences of tens of thousands of DNA sequence alterations simultaneously; and 3) develops approaches to genome engineering, including those based on recombinases and nucleases.
About the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) Division of Intramural Research (DIR) Seminar Series: The NHGRI DIR Seminar Series sponsors a monthly series of talks by intramural and special guest speakers celebrating genetics and genomics research. Speakers are selected by NHGRI intramural faculty and trainees and cover research topics of interest to a wide audience.
