If you’ve spent any decent amount of time around my channel, you’ve probably realized that I’ve played a stupid amount of video games in my life. The main reason that I’ve been able to fit in so many and develop such a wide range of experience with the art form is because I started at an incredibly young age, with my dad handing his consoles and games down to me when I was just 3 years old. This was an incredibly irresponsible move on his part looking back on it, as all of his games were ones meant for, well, not 3-year-olds. And the reason I’m opening this video by telling you all this is because the very first game I played, at an age so young that I can hardly even remember it, was the original Resident Evil for Sony’s PlayStation. This game would be the catalyst for my love for the medium, and would also make a lifelong fan out of me, as Resident Evil is, to this day, my favorite gaming franchise of all time. So when I recently asked you guys what games you would like to see me cover here on the channel and Resident Evil got more votes than anything else, to say I was a little excited would be a bit of understatement. So today, we’re starting what will inevitably be a very long journey to play and review every single Resident Evil game to see how the series changed over time. And there’s no better place to start than with the same original title that I did all those years ago.
