The Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device is a boss introduced as part of Genshin Impact's 5.1 update alongside the new 5 star unit Xilonen.
The boss can be found in a small chasm the right of the nearest above-ground waypoint. Once you enter the chasm, you will see another waypoint and the boss.
Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device is a rather simple boss that essentially only has 2 real moves that you need to pay attention to. Both of these moves involve it taking a tripod stance and doing one of two things to you: Firing off an orbital bombardment with a large AoE at your location three times, or doing a small explosion on itself, a spiral laser, and another explosion. All of the other moves are seemingly rare to come by. The main mechanic of this boss is that you can immediately enter a pillar phase by dealing damage with attacks while in Nightsoul. The pillar phase requires a unit that can either climb walls or gain height reliably to be able to hit the top pylon. Both pylons can be reached with only one source of height, as you can jump from the top of one pillar and glide to the other due to the small jump boost it gives you. Once both pylons are broken, the damage phase begins and its RES is reduced from +60% to -30%.
