Unity Splines features in this first installment of our Rail Shooter Game Development series. We're going to design our spaceship's path with splines and use the New Unity Input System to control our spaceship. We also develop a comprehensive Player Controller to effectively maneuver the spaceship along the specified path, ensuring it never leaves the spline completely. We ramp up the spaceship's cool factor by coding a barrel roll animation, with the roll's intensity directly controlled by player input. Moreover, we handle double-tap inputs using the New Unity Input System, setting the stage for more complex interactions as our series progresses. Join us and let's blast off on this coding adventure!
